The Role of the Buyer's Agent

It is important to know that unless you are working with a contracted Buyer's Agent, any agent you speak to is working as a subagent of the seller. That means that only the seller is represented. A Buyer's Agent represents you exclusively. This provides many advantages for you throughout the process. Instead or working with an agent who is trying to sell a house for the seller, you have an agent that is working to find you the right home. A Buyer's Agent will work on your behalf to find your home, negotiate price, while providing support, guidance and confidentiality from the seller. Buyer's Agents will also proactively search a larger field of homes for you, including for sale by owner properties and other unlisted properties.
