Getting the Highest Price in the Shortest Time

Getting the highest price in the shortest time depends on how effectively you market your home. More effective marketing equals more offers. And more offers gives you greater ability to get the price and terms you want.

The most important factor in marketing your home is price. Your price should reflect the market at a fair price, to attract as many serious buyers as possible.

The second most important factor is the condition of your home. Make sure that your home looks ready to be sold. Fix any defects (peeling or faded paint, cracks, stains, etc.) and consider making cosmetic upgrades/improvements and major repairs.

Lastly, support your real estate agent's marketing efforts. Make sure that people know your house is for sale. Allow your agent to put up a sign, mail out marketing material, post your home information on the internet and hold open houses. It should be visible to passersby that your house if for sale. On your own, get the word out.
